Loma Bonita Urbanisation

The largest urbanisation with residential lots on the outskirts of Lima, set beside La Chutana aerodrome, in a valley whose crests turn green during the humid months.

A large avenue runs longitudinally along the north side of the valley and a support road along the south; from them, secondary roads give access to the plots and end at the central green area. Circulation is thus hierarchised without interrupting the park, reducing traffic around it.

The park works as a 2,800-metre greenway that structures the whole valley and gathers activities for all ages — the main element of the design and its inhabitants' greatest value. The meeting of streets and park is carefully resolved until their edges dissolve, so the pedestrian routes become extensions of the green and the homes are wrapped in it without losing accessibility. The material palette is kept simple, using vegetation typical of the area.
