Description

World Golf Center is part of the Nova Atlántida tourism-residential development in Itapipoca (Ceará, Brazil). The project organises a large area of leisure, accommodation and seasonal residence around an 18-hole golf course, understood not as mere sporting infrastructure but as a landscape system that structures the whole.

The course acts as the project's matrix: its fairways, lagoons and green areas order the position of the buildings, open up long views and allow villas and apartments to be arranged in a fragmented way — in small units tied to the immediate landscape — avoiding the image of a compact development.

Two hotels concentrate the greatest intensity of the ensemble — one central and representative, beside the main access, the golf course and the convention centre; the second diversifying the accommodation offer. The convention centre lets the resort operate year-round, adding events and professional activity to a destination associated with leisure.

The layout rests on a landscape reading of the site: water structures the perimeter and the interior lagoons, while curved routes and an open arrangement build a low-density image. Rather than occupying the territory intensively, the project proposes a system of dispersed pieces recognisable as a single identity: a tourism town of controlled scale, organised by sport, landscape and hospitality.
