“Aigües Vives” house
"La Barraca d'Aigües Vives" is situated in a valley between two mountains, located south of Valencia. It is a privileged context, so it seeks to maximize the value of the environment. The plot measures around 2 hectares, while the building has an area of about 180 m². For this reason, the house is considered as a center of gravity that creates its own universe of landscape.
For the implantation, it is based on the existing traces in the territory, while respecting the location of the existing trees on the plot. From the entrance, the house presents a compact and defensive image, creating a feeling of intimacy, while the rest of the facades open up to the landscape. The aim is that the environment forms part of the home. Therefore, a curved volume is created that allows directing the visuals to the main points and embracing the pool space. The bedroom and the living room are located with views of the mountain, while the rest of the rooms direct their views to the water area and the landscape space of the plot.
Integration into the environment is achieved through geometry and materiality. White tones combined with materials that provide warmth are used, both in the design of the façade and in the interior, in order to create a neutral base and not overshadow the landscape. This, in conjunction with the creation of large windows, allows the environment to be introduced into the interior of the house and creates a warm and pleasant atmosphere.
