“Lima Bonita” urbanisation
Within a social program, the most important satellite city of national news is being developed to the south of Lima, with residential space for 7,685 families. The site is surrounded by mountains that form a valley at the foot of the beautiful Loma de Cicasos.
The project understands and adapts to the geometry of the site, optimizing the developable area and rationalizing the road flow. However, the conception of the design originates in the public space and its connection with the hills. In this way, a network of pedestrian and cyclist circuits is generated, which allows people to live in harmony with their surroundings. With these ingredients, a high urban density is achieved, while the individuals perceive their life in a wide-ranging natural environment.
The image of the project is inspired by the hummingbird, symbol of the tradition and culture of Peru. The study of the wingbeat of the hummingbird in flight provides organic curves of great beauty and plasticity, which provide us with a fantastic resource for generating the main routes in the parks.
Following the form of the logo, we use its geometric nature to design spaces of all kinds that will contain recreational and sports activities. Most of residential passages are directly connected to the large central park. This facilitates the accessibility of the youngest and the oldest, so that the common space is a place full of life and remains active throughout the day.
The goal of this urbanization to achieve a quality space to house future generations with a guarantee.
