Puerto Siles
The project is located in Canet de Berenguer, a small coastal town north of Valencia. It consists of an action on the Siles marina, located on the left side of the mouth of the Palancia river and close to the industrial port of Sagunto. Through this intervention, it is intended to execute a new social area and revitalise the port to promote the activity.
Regarding the program, in the area closest to the town, a commercial space linked to the promenade is generated, as well as a social club, a conference room and a sailing school, opening the different uses around the port. In addition, there are auxiliary parking spaces and storerooms for the port. Next to the beach, spaces for restaurants are developed, creating a large terrace that connects the port and the beach. At the furthest and calmest point, there are two lounge areas with terraces to enjoy the views of the sea.
As for the design, the complex is based on the organic geometries that remind about the sails of ships, manifesting as volumes modelled by the action of the wind. These volumes are superimposed on each other and seem to float on the water, transmitting a feeling of lightness.
Just like that, the image gets an aerodynamic appearance, adapting to the configuration of the different uses and unifying the whole under the same concept. In this way, a composition of abstract forms full of movements is achieved, marking different directions that organize the circulation of the project. In this way, the intervention is unified as a whole, integrating into the environment, maximizing the characteristics of the landscape and incorporating the sea in the conception of the project.
